How can I get BLUE Flame?? I have tried Ethylene Glycol/ Methanol as Fuel & 2-3% by Weight of Copper Chloride.?

Several Thousand Scientists Inventers state that a Blue Flame can be produced using Ethylene Glycol/ Methanol as Fuel & 2-3% by Weight of Copper Chloride. Many Hundred trials have been made according to the information using Wick of pure cotton, pure wool, glass fiber & kevlar, in all cases a GREEN Flame resulted. What could be Wrong ??

You have to use Copper (I) chloride

If you are using CuCl, it could be a problem with the temperature. If the flame is too hot, a green colour will result:

In an oxygen rich flame and a temperature above 1200 degrees C, CuCl is unstable and reacts with the steam to give copper (II) oxide which gives a green flame.

You could try using even more methanol in your fuel mix to lower the temperature?
