Wool Purple

I colered the cover of my book Science in purple pencil, and held the book, and thereafter realized I had a spot marked by the purple crayon. The fabric is wool, but the area is not very large. It is about 5 inches square Total ... Should I wash it as usual and see what happens? (I like this sweater a lot.) Thanks!
spraying first a small Formula 409 on a hidden "test" area to see if the material is dyed. If the hardware does not turn the color of the stain with the spray 409 and brushing with a toothbrush. Then brush with a little dish soap or fabric and now you can wash the clothes ... everything should be fine afterwards.
