Im trying to make a shade of milk chocolate brown and i have tried adding white to a brown that i made from a mixture of red and black and a mixture of orange and blue but i keep getting this really ugly grey-red please tell me what Im doing wrong or in detail how you would mix to get this color i am wasting too much paint
no no no don't use purple and blue.
Brown is grayish orange (did you know that?)
Orange and blue are correct. Get rid of red and get rid of black. Orange plus blue gives you gray, and adding a little more orange to the gray gives you a warm brown. Use a knife to mix--not a brush.
Add white to the mix right away so you can see what you're mixing--otherwise the color will be too dark to distinguish.
