Self Patterns
Posted on Thursday, August 19th, 2010 at 11:52 pmHow do you stop patterns of self defeat and self destructive behavior?
ever since a tradegy about 6 years ago, i seem to have these awful patterns of self destruction. i will climb back up and do everything wonderful in my life and then i fall back down, and hate the world. it seems like a never ending cycle, what can i do? i try and break it but cant, i feel defeatist...its like i have yoyo cycles of this, im on cymbalata, 60 mg, and that used to help, but these cycles are still here and becoming more and more annoying the more i try to succeed in my adult life...any advice?
The first thing is already done. Admitting you have a problem is the first step. I understand what you mean, I have a disease called genetic pancreatitis. I am only 27 years old, and there is no cure. I've been told I will have cancer and die at a very early age. I've wanted to give up too, but I've decided not to. I have to much to look forward to. What you need to do is find someone you can trust and talk this over with. They have programs, kinda like narcotics anonymous, but for your problem. They are there to help you. Give it a try, call your local help line. It's in the phone book under local government. Don't be ashamed. There are a lot of people who do the same as you. I wish you the best of luck, keep your head up, and when things are down try and think of happy things. I know that's hard, but it might help. Good luck.
