Lace Cobweb

Poets, in a reflective mood, what is a poem?

Words whispered on the breeze, carried by the wind.
Sighs and shudders silent in the night,
Monumental moments graven in granite
Steel hammered on the anvil, clanging in the storm.
A lover's kiss, an infant's cry
Sounds of nature passing by
Screams of anguish, rebel anthem
Muffled conscience, glutted gorge
Songs of passion, hymns of joy
The creak of old and rusted hinges
Gossamer cobwebs, faded lace
Gold and gems in dazzling brilliance
Quiet of a backwoods cabin
Crush of busy city streets
Sunset on the bayou and moon across the bay
I'll keep it open, it was a dark nigh before dawn,

I am so sorry, I cannot comment very well right now.. my brain has gone to the other side to play with darkness for a bit. May I come back tomorrow when it feels more like home?
