Ice Mini

someone with actuial cridentials should answer. kinda like the mini ice age in the early part of the last millenia.
Current trends point to that possibility, but there is a significant chance that it may be more than a mini. The key factor is the world population, which is on a steep climb the likes of which have never been seen before (it took thousands of years to reach the 2 billion mark, but only a few decades to break 6 billion!) The energy needs for the future (projecting 9 billion by 2030) suggest much more energy is going to be introduced to the environment which could trigger more than a mini ice age, but could trip a full ice age. The last mini was the result of the Hudson bay ice dam giving way and flooding the north Atlantic with huge amounts of freshwater, effectively plugging the heat conveyor which moved warmth from the Equatorial oceans to the polar oceans. The polar oceans got colder and colder, effecting changes in the weather cycle which we call the mini ice age of the last millennia. If more drastic additions to the polar seas of fresh water (say Greenland splitting in two, which it just did...) then we might be looking at a more drawn out saga of global cooling.
