The ice in the ice maker taste "funny", what can be wrong?

A little history...I just moved into this mobile home and this is the first refrig I've had with an ice maker so I don't know anything about the ice maker.

1. Could be a filter issue and bad water in general.
2. Could be a filter issue and water siphoning back from the hotwater heater into the supply line.
3. Could be some wierd smell in the freezer getting into the ice.
4. Could be a galvanic reaction in the metal because some other sort of metal is bumped up against it.

1. Switch the filter and see what happens.
2. Put a try of water in the freezer to see if ice that is made independently of the ice maker tastes the same.
3. Put two boxes of open baking soda in the fridge.
