which chemical dyes your hand dusty purple?

OK, so i was in Science, doing a lab. And i was cleaning out the test tube. and i accidentaly dropped it. but the chemical (im guessing) and it spilt on my hand. so now my hand is a dusty purple color. it either, silver nitrate or copper sulfate.. thanks!

The chemical was silver nitrate. It will produce a semi-permanent stain. It won't wash off. The stain is actually due to the production of reduced silver. Light will reduce silver ion to form silver metal.
